History

Mascali

Since its origins, the County of Mascali has included a vast territory from the sea to the mountains and it has become one of the most flourishing economic and social realities in Sicily, especially thanks to the export of a prestigious kind of wine which took place through the maritime landing place of the port of Riposto all around Europe.

The economic development led to a demographic increase and the subsequent birth of new closer inhabited centers (Giarre, Riposto, Milo, Sant'Alfio) which from 1815 will request and obtain the detachment from the ancient mother city Mascali, sentencing the end of the County. The house was built in 1967 and it was used as a summer residence by Dr. Salvatore Carbone, the county pediatrician.
